About the Artist

Artist Ashley McCarter was born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts, where her love for the ocean began during summers spent with her grandparents at Salisbury Beach State Reservation. From a young age, she was drawn to both coastal environments and creative expression, often describing the beach and arts and crafts as two of her greatest passions.

Ashley also valued education and service, earning her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in May 2017. Following graduation, she led the audiology department at a small community hospital and later worked as a clinical audiologist at a local ear, nose, and throat practice. After working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Ashley recognized a growing desire for a more creative and fulfilling path.

In the summer of 2021, she made the decision to transition from healthcare to pursue her lifelong dream of owning a creative business. Having begun working with epoxy resin in 2018, Ashley discovered a deep connection to ocean-inspired artwork. Through months of dedicated practice, experimentation, and refinement across various materials, surfaces, and techniques, she developed a distinct artistic style rooted in coastal themes.

Today, Ashley creates resin artwork that reflects her passion for the ocean and her commitment to craftsmanship. She is deeply grateful for every purchase, as each one supports her journey as a full-time artist and small business owner and allows her to continue living her creative dream.
